For Sale – Big Ridge Callie, AHCA # 54244
An impact dam with more really nice calves before she retires.
Sometimes you just get carried away keeping heifer calves and when you finally realize you have too many cows for your pasture, you just have to let some go. How do you pick? We love all our girls and this one got great reviews when Jacob was here. Here are just a couple of the comments he made when he looked at Callie: Feet are good and hips are great! Nice udder.
Callie is an excellent mother and has produced some wonderful calves. Callie achieved impact dam status with the birth of her fourth calf, Elm Hollow’s Journey, in 2020.
If you have questions or want to purchase this gorgeous cow, email [email protected].
Callie has been very briefly pasture exposed to WKA Braxton, but we do believe she is open and ready to breed for a spring calf. Her exposure will be noted on her registration transfer so if there is a calf coming, it can be easily registered with the AHCA.
Callie is available for $8,500.
Big Ridge Callie
Callie’s classic, thick dossan is passed on to her offspring. And her body has the depth we all look for in a great productive cow.
Callie’s dam, Muirneag 3rd of VH is also dam to Big Ridge Fergus. Muirneag will be one of our retirees here at Elm Hollow after a stellar career of calving.
Here are a couple of Callie’s calves. You can see that even though she is 9 years old, you can expect some really nice calves before she is ready to retire.
This is EH Blackwatch Journey. Just look at that thick dossan! Journey has produced many outstanding calves. He also placed 3rd in a large class of yearling bulls. He would have placed better if we had “fitted” him to look like an angus, but we show as Highlands are and just wash their beautiful long hair.
Elm Hollow’s Kallie’s Lass has that deep body and great feet we look for in a good, strong calf.
