This sweet little bull was hidden in the snow on January 16th when I did my walk through the pasture at first light. I walked right past him! We knew Caitlin was due any day and I wasn’t at all surprised to find her secluded in the lower pasture, but I was a little surprised when she kept mooing to me. So, thinking she might be in labor and having some difficulty I went to her and checked her over. Wait! It looks like she’s been nursing a calf! A more thorough search began and I found this tiny boy. He blended right in.

Caitlin was so proud of him that she wanted to show him off, but didn’t want me to tell the other cows yet. LOL. Bruce came right away to check him over and weighed him in at 59 pounds.

When mama did decide it was time to let Regal meet the other calves, he was quite a hit, especially with the girls. His first true love was dainty Roseanna. She has a little rosebud nose. They remain friends to this day.

Halter training was a snap for Regal and he is such a gentleman on the halter. Regal loves his treats and he really enjoys interacting with people.
