Rockhouse Katherine (PV,D) AHCA # 57721
An 8-year-old, bred, red cow with vigorous calves.
Katherine is a very correct and beautiful example of the Highland breed. Although registered as red, Katherine appears more yellow at times. She is an easy calver and a super mother. Her one fault is that she is overprotective of her newborns. Her calves are vigorous and grow quickly with her plentiful milk supply. Katherine does well in the herd and gets along with the other cows.
Her most recent calf, Elm Hollow’s Riata, was a beautiful little heifer from day one, but we were not allowed near her for the first month. After that, Riata joined the other calves in the pasture for play time and at 6 months old, she enrolled in halter training right on schedule. Riata now resides at The National Whitewater Center Windfall property.
Katherine and Moire have been together for at least the last 5 years and are always together in the pasture. They would be happier if they could stay together and continue that bond. If purchased as a pair, there would be a $1000 discount on the purchase price.
Katherine was AI’d to Big Ridge Magic’s Lad in mid-April for a late January calf.
