Elm Hollow’s Hank

Hank is shy, but curious. He sticks pretty close to mama for now. Hank is available for weaning and delivery.

Take home the best Christmas present ever! We’ll even put a big red bow on him and have him halter trained to boot!

Hank will be UTD on vaccinations, be properly tattooed, halter trained and have a health clearance from the vet before he leaves Elm Hollow Farm.

Hank is pictured at 4 months and 7 months age, with his mama GAM Grace Suk, AHCA #58654.  Also pictured is his sire Red Road’s Rufus AHCA # 53815.

DOB: 4/14/2019

She is shown with her most recent calf, Garnet.

Ruby

GKT Ruby Roxanne will take treats from my hand, but she was herded with an electric cattle prod by her previous owner and so does not trust people.

Ruby would be excellent in a beef herd. She is large and calves unassisted and produces fine calves. She has been bred to Red Road’s Rufus, AHCA #53815.

Rufus is pictured last.

DOB: 01/16/2012
AHCA Registration: #51738

Ember

Ember is a 3 year old heifer. She is calm and easily groomed in the pasture. Ember’s dam is a white impact dam, so Ember may surprise you with quite a variety of color in her calves. She will make a great first cow for your introduction to the Highland breed or a wonderful addition to your existing fold.

Ember is confirmed pregnant by Red Road’s Rufus and is due in late October.

Elm Hollow Hairy

Hairy is a very gentle, laid back little lad with true Scottish heritage on both sides. He is halter trained and ready for a beginner to show as either a bull or a steer.

His Dam, Gala is hands down the most perfect example of a Heilan coo in our pasture, and his sire, Bear is son of Big Ridge Voodoo Magic.

Hairy is pictured here at six months old, along with his sire and dam.

His sire is Big Ridge Bearnard, AHCA #53391, and his dam is GealachRuadh of Legacy, AHCA #56153.

Elm Hollow Galen

Galen is weaned and just over 6 months old.  I have not yet had time to halter train this beautiful bull calf, but he is a calm little guy and promises to be easy to work with (as soon as the weather improves).

The pictures are of Galen on his actual birthday, at 4 months, and just shy of six months in the last two photos. As of March 2019, he has been started on halter training and is accustomed to being groomed.

He is a big, strong yellow bull calf and for a while I planned to keep him, but I have another yellow bull calf just a bit older that I also like.  Please note that with training and a little age, Galen’s value and price will increase.

His Sire is WND Thor, AHCA #54931, and his Dam is COV Annabelle Jean, AHCA #48933.

DOB: 9/2/2018
AHCA Registration: #58,389

Annabelle has been pasture exposed to Red Road’s Rufus AHCA# 53815, is confirmed pregnant and is due in November. Rufus is a gentle bull and his calves are calm and easy to train. With Annabelle’s bold red color they should produce a really beautiful calf

Sydney

SHP Sydney is 5 years old and simply was not handled as a calf so has just been frightened and skittish since we’ve had her.

Sydney is shown with her calf Gorman, who is already halter trained and sold.  Sydney has calmed down quite a bit since her first calf was born, and she is an absolutely stunning cow.

Sydney would be excellent in a beef herd. She is large and calves unassisted and produces fine calves. She was pastured exposed to Red Road’s Rufus (pictured last), AHCA #53815 from January 17 to April 8, is no longer cycling and is presumed pregnant.

Shadow Mtn. Rainy Daze

Shadow Mtn. Rainy Daze is a really beautiful yellow heifer. Rainy is gentle and will allow grooming in the pasture without being tied. She will be a terrific breeding cow that will give you a variety of color.

She is open and will be ready for late fall or spring breeding.

Sire is J Bar T’s Thor, AHCA #52668, and her Dam is High Country’s Maple, AHCA #52479. I love her looks, but we over bought and can’t keep them all!

DOB: 8/8/17
AHCA Registration: #57787

DH Lulu and Calf

DH Lulu  is an open cow with calf at side. She is one of the most gentle cows here at Elm Hollow. She allows us to groom her, handle her calves and even milk her a little if she is too full.

Lulu caught one of her horns in something as a younger calf and that horn is curved down a little, but it is not a genetic issue. Her beautiful red calf is spunky and already curious about human interaction.

The calf, sired by Big Ridge Bearnard, AHCA #53391, can be registered if desired for only $30.00 which is the fee charged by AHCA.

DOB: 05/11/2016
AHCA Registration: #56016

Shadow Mtn. Peggy Sue

This is a really beautiful red heifer with the beginnings of a Bus Dubh coloration around the nose. Peggy Sue is uncommonly friendly and will certainly be a wonderful addition to your fold. I really want to keep this girl, but I have too many heifers this age.

She is open and will be ready for late fall or spring breeding.

Sire is J Bar T’s Thor, AHCA #52668, and her Dam is High Country’s Leslie, AHCA #52480 .

DOB: 10/1/17

Erin + Glenn

LiTerra Erin is a beautiful brindle with blond highlights, currently with bull calf Glenn at her side.

Erin will take treats from your hand but is not currently hands on. She allows us to work with her calf with no agressive behavior. She calved unassisted and with a bit of patience and attention can be made a hands on cow. She will be ready to be rebred in January or February.

The calf is registerable (+$100 to price) and was sired by Big Ridge Bearnard, AHCA #53391.

Erin’s AHCA Registration: #56334
Date of Birth: 4/4/16

Bear

It is with a great deal of sadness that Elm Hollow must offer one of our most beloved Highlands for sale: Big Ridge Bearnard, AHCA #53391.

He has been outstanding in lending calm stability to our fold and has given us many beautiful calves. So many that it is time for him to move on. Fondly known as Bear, this fine bull loves to be brushed, relishes alfalfa cubes and carrots, and loads without hesitation if you have a bucket of sweet feed. He is gentle with calves and takes good care of the ladies. He will be greatly missed.

Sire: Big Ridge Voo Doo Magic, AHCA #51522
Dam: RRH5G Myrtle Rose I, AHCA # 34432

Windy

Shadow Mtn Windy is pretty red yearling heifer with diverse strong bloodlines. Her sire was J Bar T’s Thor, AHCA #52668, and her dam was High Country’s Melody, AHCA #52478.

Although she came in untouchable, we are working with her and she has progressed to taking treats from the hand, and will begin halter training soon. We are moving her along as part of an effort to diversify our mix of cow colors.

AHCA Registration: #57784
Date of Birth: 9/1/17
