For Sale – Elm Hollow’s Loretta: add strength to your genetic pool.

Elm Hollow’s Loretta was the second heifer born on Elm Hollow Farm this season. She arrived shortly after the loss of that beautiful country western icon, Loretta Lynn. We were watching a special on her life when the message arrived that WKA Annie Get Your Gun had just delivered a beautiful heifer calf. We needed an “L” name, so naturally she became Loretta.

Loretta became fast friends with Liberty and they have remained pasture partners to this day. They even want to be side by side in halter training class.

It always amazes me how much they change when they go from three months to eight months. Loretta’s baby face has become very like her mother’s face at 10 months.

Loretta’s dam handily reached the status of impact dam, which means that she has produced four calves in four years after having her first calf at least by the time she reached maturity at 3 years and 4 months. This high level of fertility is often passed to offspring, so it is likely that Loretta has many years of beautiful calves ahead of her.

Loretta’s ancestry includes some well-known stock from Osceola, Big Ridge, LEA, and Kiyiwana. She will bring strength to your genetic pool.

Elm Hollow's Loretta's ancestry

At eight months old, Loretta is halter trained and current on vaccinations. We use the modified live virus program at Elm Hollow Farm, recommended as the safest by most veterinarians.

If you would like additional information or would like to purchase Loretta, simply email [email protected] with your FULL NAME, YOUR FARM’S LOCATION, and a brief description of your farm.

I will also be requesting information about your pastures, facilities for handling, goals for your Highlands: (pasture ornaments, pets, beef, showing, etc.)  It is important to gather this information before the sale because I don’t accept offers unless I feel like the buyer and the calf/cow are a good match.  It is important that calf/cow will be manageable for the buyer and will be able to fulfill their goals.  I also want to be sure my calves/cows will have a safe home with the buyer.

All Elm Hollow calves have been vaccinated and examined by our vet.  All have been socialized, halter trained to stand and lead. Elm Hollow farm will pay for transfer fees when applicable and health certificates when required for transport.

Loretta is available for $6,000.

NOTE: If a buyer purchases both Loretta and Liberty together, I will give a 5% discount for keeping them together. That’s a $600 discount!
